We are blessed by the leadership of our Youth Director, Ms. Alison Buechner, who grew up in our parish and was baptized and confirmed at St. David’s.
Youth Bible Study meets every other Sunday at 9 a.m. in the classroom building. Refreshments are served, and no prior knowledge of the Bible or the Christian faith is required. Everyone ages 10-18 is invited to come and learn and enjoy the fellowship of peers.
The Youth Group also regularly enjoys fellowship outings such as “holy hikes,” ice skating, and bowling. Annual trips include Episcopal Happening weekend in Delray Beach and the Rock the Universe Christian Music Festival at Universal Studios in Orlando.
The youth are involved in almost all ministries of the church, including Outreach projects, the Live Nativity, picnics, fundraisers, and caring for our grounds. They serve as acolytes and lectors at regular Sunday services. At least once each year the youth entirely lead the 10 a.m. service; they preach the sermon; serve as ushers, greeters, and lectors; and even play and sing the music. The youth also lead the Stations of the Cross observance the evening of Good Friday.
