WEEKLY MESSAGE – February 2, 2024

WEEKLY MESSAGE – February 2nd– Fr. Cederberg

One of the things that was central to the ministry of Jesus was healing.  We may struggle with what that means in our day of hospitals, doctor’s offices and emergency rooms, but it is clear that healing was important to him.  A sick child, a hemorrhaging older woman, or an outcast leper, they all attracted the touch of Jesus.
We might get spooked off from the idea of religion and healing from stories of faith healers and Pentecostal extremists, yet wherever the church has gone through history healing has always been central.  Why do we give thanks to God for the food and yet fail give thanks to God when we are healed?  Are doctors and hospitals not a part of God’s healing plan?  Were antibiotics not the result of his inspiration?
Next time you go to the doctor, remember to say a prayer for your healing.  And when the healing happens, pause to give God thanks.  He’s in the healing business!
