WEEKLY RECTOR’S MESSAGE – December 30th – Fr. Thomas

A Blessed New Year to everyone. Have you made your resolutions yet? Perhaps you’ve already broken some of them! As much as we’d prefer to change the past, we don’t live in an “Etch a Sketch” culture. We live in the present, with our eyes firmly fixed on the next life; so with that being said, I’ll share with you an anonymous admonition:

“Ladies and gentlemen, this is The Holy Spirit, your chief flight attendant. On behalf of the pilot Lord Jesus, the entire crew, welcomes you aboard airline flight 2023 with non-stop service from January 1st to December 31st. Our flight time will be of 365 days. If you have sorrows, resentments, regrets in your luggage, please leave them on the counter number 2022. Those passengers carrying love will have preferred seating by the windows to contemplate a better world outside. At this time, make sure your faith in in its full upright position and that your seat belt of hope is correctly fastened. Also, your portable despair devices must be turned off through this trip. We recommend that no one, under any circumstances, utilize the emergency exit during this flight. In case of turbulence, keep calm and trust the pilot of this aircraft – God Himself. Press the button of faith and you will notice that at the same time He is piloting this plane, He is also sitting by your side. Thanks and enjoy the flight.”

And remember, if God is your co-pilot, change seats!

Every blessing for a great new year.
