WEEKLY RECTOR’S MESSAGE – September 26th – Fr. Thomas

A middle aged couple arrived at a little hotel desk in a busy city one stormy night. The lady was pregnant, tired and ill. They had hunted all over town and found no place to sleep. When the young hotel manager realized their need, he said to the husband, “I don’t have any rooms left, but I’m sorry about your wife. My wife and I wouldn’t miss our room; so take it and stay here for the night.”

Two years later, the guest was revealed as a close relative of John Jacob Astor, who shortly thereafter, told the manager, “If you will allow me, I will build for you the greatest hotel ever erected in the United States.”

For years that young man, George Boldt, was the manager of the Waldorf Astoria Hotel in New York City. He had practiced, TLC, Tender, Loving, Care. When we show kindness to those who can repay us, it’s called networking. When we show kindness with no thought of repayment, it’s called love.

St. George’s Center: There is very good news to share about St. George’s Center! While the construction is underway during 2022, the Center will operate from a temporary facility yet to be determined. I will share more info as it becomes available. Joyce Parker 561-312-2719
