How to Become a Member of St. David's Church
We invite you to join our community of faith! Baptism is the sacrament which makes one a member of the Christian Faith. It is not a repeatable act because the grace of baptism never expires. If you have been baptized in any denomination performed with water and in the name of the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit you are welcome here.
If you are already a member of the Episcopal Church, or another branch of the worldwide Anglican Communion, then a simple transfer from your former parish will suffice to make you a member of our parish. If you desire to be baptized or simply inquire about its meaning, you may also begin by speaking to Fr. Thomas.
For adults who wish to become "Card Carrying" members, then confirmation is appropriate. Classes are provided to help provide the new member with the necessary tools and knowledge to lead a faithful life as a disciple of Christ in our Church.
If you have been confirmed already in the Roman Catholic Church or Lutheran Church, you can be received (not re-confirmed) as a communicant into the Episcopal Church by our bishop by attending the classes.
If you are looking for a church that is clear about the Christian Faith, that recognizes the importance of lay people, that encourages people to grow in the faith they profess, that believes we ought to live so as to make a difference in the world, then call Father Thomas, our Rector, or our secretary, at 793-1976, and come visit us at St. David's In the Pines Episcopal Church.
